Frequent TeamTalk browser, new member. May be against new-thread etiquette, but wanted to say hi to new family at MC. Bought new '10 x14v back in late-September, was able to tease myself by putting 3 hours on it, and now I'm sitting in the longest winter of my life. Excited about summer though. Great advice on any and all issues on this forum. Great concept.

I liked the clean lines and I've always preferred white--maybe I'm lazy and just get sick of wiping down waterspots....

Great looking boat.

What do you think of the new spare tire location? It's looks pretty low to the ground.

I think you've got to worry about the prop guard AND the bumper before the spare hits the ground... :D

Well, while it might not be common I could see if you were coming off a level street into an inclined drive way you could end up grounding out the spare tire mount.

From the ones I've seen, that would need to be a dramatic incline coupled with a tow vehicle that wasn't set up to haul the boat. Tongue would have to be very low.

Ive got a fairly steep incline getting into storage but didn't have any issues. It seemed a bit low when it was completely submerged launching the boat for the first time (another item to wipe down after each use) but being my first MC, I don't have anything to compare it to (old B'liner doesn't count).

Nice looking boat, You going to keep using it on Chatfield or do you have another lake in mind when the weather warms up a bit?

GT500 MC

Hopefully I'll be using Chatfield as little as possible. Guernsey/Glendo in WY possibly, Pueblo Res., Horsetooth, wanted to look into some private lakes as well. We go for two weeks back to MN every summer too. Miss the Midwest.

I just saw a 68 that had 10,000 kilometers on it sell for 825k on Barret-Jackson. It seems this one never left the AC factory after the 427 went in it. Shelby America documented the car as it was supposed to be a race model but never made it to the track. Pretty sweet car.

If the market ever falls out of the bottom on those, I'd hate to be left hanging onto one if I bought it at that price. I guess you'd have a nice ride...for the rest of your life. Who knows, if Carroll Shelby ever dies, maybe they could fetch even more.

I am a proud new owner of an 89 prostar 190. Could only be happier if lakes weren't frozen. Happy to be on TT. Have lots of questions and looking for opinions on towers, upholestry, and the like. Oh yeah, your X14 is pretty sick!

Welcome to TT, where in the world are you located? It will help with recommendations about dealers, aftermarket shops and what not.

Sure a lot of folks picking up boats in the "off" season, like there is one for some folks.

I just noticed the boat matches the car or the other way around! Nice pair of rides! Too bad you can't tow with that car :)

I love that color combo! If you wanna take a lil drive down 76 this summer.... We got property on the private side of Jackson res. Week days its like having your own lake 90% of the time. ;) Its only about a hour from Denver hauling a boat.

Yea, I have an odd affinity for red and white.

milehigh970 - Is Jackson res. ski-able? I've not heard much about it.

milehigh970
01-25-2011, 09:53 PM
Oh yeah!!! And i perfer you keep it that way..lol no just kidding. Very ski able... On the weekend it can get busy during the day with the tubber patrol! so you gotta get the early morning glass, or wait till around 7 and you can find nice water on the backside or by the dam until sunset... My uncle sloloms and it it a common thing for him to call when he's 5 minutes out so i got the boat running and floating about 20 feet of our dock... He walks up waves to everyone and dives in..lol he rides across the lake and I gotta pull him in for sunset. Is it summer yet?!?! ;)

joshcarew - I've got an '89 Prostar 190 too and love it. Got any pics of yours?

Also, the X14 looks great. Love the colors. I am thinking that something in that series will likely be my next boat.

Welcome to TT and to the MC family. I bought a 2010 X-14v in late July. We were fortunate to put 40 hours on the boat before having to winterize. 3 or 40 winter is a long wait for our new toy.

Let me know if I can answer any questions about your boat. There are quite a few loyal TT members who are 09 /10 X-14v owners. We should probably start our own dedicated owners thread!

Enjoy!

mramerman - I had seen some of your pix and a couple of your posts and descriptions right before I bought mine--not that I needed anymore convincing. Loved your color scheme too, just wasn't ready to keep a black boat clean. Thx for the feedback, as I get a bit more time in the boat may be looking you up.
