I am in the process of installing my Christmas present that my wife actually suprised me with. a stereo system in my 85 (with out cutting or drilling anything visible) I am using a Jensen Gimble Housing for the head unit installed under the wheel. I used some carpet from under the bow to carpet some boxes in the back corners next to the back seat. I installed some JBL tweaters in the dash box corners using existing drain wholes to route wires (works killer and is invisible from the boat). The Sub is in after

I need some ideas or pictures of what others have done to get their front speakers to look good. I am trying to use two 6X9 pioneers up front next to the bench seat and near the drivers seat.

Show me your photos please.

I am pushing it all with a 3000 watt 4 way and an 1800 watt mono block. a little rediculas but sounds amazing.

This is what the panel looks like anchored.

I made my speaker boxes square the cut them in a wedge shape and slid them up under the gunwale, no drilling or cutting on the boat. The fit very good and tight and sound fine. The is a picture of back speaker but did the front just the same.

Thanks! That is similer to what I am thinking of. My wife wants a drink holder incorporated into it next to the bench seat. I may just add an extra box on the side and use the same style cup holder that is on the dash.

I like the fact that they are not screwed in, they could be popped out and set on the engine cover pointing at the beach.

On my boat, I relocated the driver's speaker from the kick panel to a place where I could actually hear it. This may not work for all of your speakers, but it makes a huge difference versus a location where the speaker is pointed at the driver's feet, or in the case of many boats, located behind the driver's seat pointed at the motorbox.

This was my first pod project. The only part I farmed out was the carpeting of that contoured surface. Just got some thin material and wrapped the structure, painted it with resin, let it dry, coated it with bondo, let it dry, sanded it, and carpeted it. I epoxied 3 bolts to the glassed mdf base, which I epoxied to the hull with only the screws coming through the carpet. The pod is secured to the screws with nylock nuts.
