Please help me! The chrome gas cap on my husband's 1999 Maristar-210 came off the attachment chain and dropped into the. . . water as I was putting gas in. I need to find another one before he drives the boat. Has to be JUST like the old one. I know you guys can help me out of this one.

Call JOA and see if they have one. Ask for Rusty and tell him Team Talk sent you.
JOA is your local dealer. The only one in Georgia.

Call your local dealer and see if he has one in stock or can get one quick. There are a couple of dealers that frequent this site that can hopefully help you. skidim, overtons or West Marine may be of some help.

Why don't you try this,
When your husband is home, run to him and say some one stole your gas cap. Or you could jump in and do a short dive and look for the thing. It is shinney so is not hard to find under water. If all fail, I am sure your husband would understand. It could happen to anyone, he probably just laugh and go to look for it in the lake or just order another.

Yea, Lex sure helped me out on my trailer marker lamps I needed. He is a heck of a nice guy to deal with. Very helpful :toast: :D

Rambo gets around. My trailer has a Rambo sticker on it. The boat did too but I removed it. Cool name, RAMBO!

I'd also advise you to call Rambo marine. There is a reason they consistently win a Mastercraft award! I bought my first MC from them. They delivered the boat, spent about 2 hours with me crusing the lake showing me all the gadgets and gizmos.

Been there, done that.......ended up buying a new cap. :cool:

Take a dive for it first. Thats the easiest route. If the bottom of the lake is murky, then #2 is to call where everyone said to call.
Tell him the truth........
If he gets mad..........
Tell him that you will never, ever, ever, ever, ever put forth the effort of putting gas in the boat for him again. That'll fix it. :D
This coming from the guy who has NEVER, ever, ever had anyone else put forth the effort of putting gas into his boat.........:noface:

I think the gas caps are magnetic so you could fish around with one of the super magnets on a string.

He can't get mad - it's his fault - if he were that anal, he shouldn't have let you even fill it up. Not to mention, the chain should have kept it from going overboard. He needs to keep his chain maintained.

Just be sure to cover the gas inlet with something to keep rain out while you get your new gas cap.And don't use a rag,it would drip into the gas tank if it rain.
