Well I thought that I would start a thread on the 1978 SS that I restored and customized twice. I found most of these pics last week so I scanned them and thought that I would share them. Most of the pics are 8 years old some have been posted before some have not.

Seen the boat, but not these pics. Wow. Great work and amazing results. Very Impressive and well worth the labor. Nice, Nice, Nice. Makes me want to strip down my 75.

Phenominal work. Your attention to detail is impressive. Don't know how long it took but you are a true and patient craftsman. Most of us (well at least me) could only dream of completing a project like that. :worthy:

And I thought I took on some rebuild projects in the past. Outstanding work. Very impressive. Makes me wish I wouldn't have passed on the ragged out 95 190 I saw at auction this summer.

Did you do the Gelcoat work or hire someone to do it? Is it gel or paint? If you did it, how hard was it to do? Looks great

A friend of mine sprayed it back in 2002 with marine paint. The colors are supra white and competition yellow with yellow pearl. It was not that hard, it is just a lot of prep work. Thank You.

Do you still have that boat? Or did you sell when you bought the 197? Very nice job.

I jumped on the computer today specifically to look this boat up on the Stars and Stripes thread. What a cool surprise to find this thread waiting for me. Where is this boat residing now? Is it still in Georgia? This boat is absolutely jaw dropping. I don't know how you could part with it. It has to smart sometimes.

The guy that bought it lives outside Nashville TN. It was tough to sell it but the wife said we could not have 2 boats in the garage.:(

Why the change to yellow? I did it yellow because I had never seen a yellow and white SS. I went to cypress gardens in 2000 and there was 10 other blue and tan stars and stripes there. I knew I had to do something different to seperate myself from the rest of the crowd.

Bump. This thread is hard to find when you try to explain to people how much these boats are loved this is the thread to show them.

If I had a wife that told me I couldn't have two boats in the garage, I'd go find a storage unit for the second one!! :D

Especially one as nice as that.

Very nice! Can I ask where I can get decals for a 85 S&S. And I love the polished Mastercraft vent covers.
