We were on Table Rock Lake in Missouri today. 40 degrees, cloudy, 10 MPH Northwest wind. BRRR... We were only out about 1 1/2 hours but saw lots of eagles. Anyone else seeing them? What Lake?

There are several that that make their home on Lake Blue Ridge in N. Ga. Just look for the tractor tire of sticks in the top of the tallest trees. :)

Seems to be a healthy population at Lake Anna in VA. We see them out quite a bit -- especially late afternoon.

We seem to see them more in the late summer and early fall at Leesville Lake in VA. It's amazing to watch them dive down from several hundred feet in the air and grab a fish out of the water. I never have my camera ready when I need it.

We were wakeboarding on Lake Washington (Seattle) 10 days ago and four bald eagles circled about 15 feet above my head when I was in the water.

They're thick up here. We have to shoot 'em to keep the population in check or our cats and small dogs start disappearing. They taste a little like chicken...

We built our cottage on the eagles' flyway between the lake in front and the swamp and the Nicolet National Forest in back. Sometimes they fly over so low you can hear the wings flap, then there's this huge shadow and the piercing cry. In the winter they gather on the frozen lake to eat what the fishermen leave behind. The young ones don't have their white head and tail feathers yet but they're pretty big. We've seen one sitting on a deer carcass on the side of the road picking away, all by itself, nothing challenging it. Sure glad Ben Franklin didn't get his way and elect the turkey our national bird! No majesty there, they just crap on the deck.
