Gelcoat repair

I have an 09 X-star. My sister was driving and ran over my handle. The handle took some small chunks of Gel Coat out of the hull around the prop area. A couple of the gashes are into the (black) resin layer. I don't see any fiberglass.
I keep the boat in the water. The boat is out of the water now. I'm letting the area dry before I repair it.
Can I make it perfect? Any suggessions on how to repair it?
I know Marine Tex is great. The area is yellow and I want it to be perfect. Can I get it perfect or should I let a getcoat guy do it?

Fiber glass repair kit.. if its black and on the bottom, it will be hard to tell its been repaired... just clean it real good and remove loose particles of gelcoat, then gel it.. let it dry and sand it down, the closer you get to smooth, the finer the sand paper you use... its will pollish up like glass and you'll be on your way...
