Picking out the gel colors for a 2011 X25 and I'm looking for some input. Could anyone help out by posting a picture of their boat if it has any combination of the following colors:

Fire Red Flake
Pro Tour Red
Silver Flake
Midnite Black

OR

Navy
Navy Flake
Silver Flake
Black

Here's where I'm at right now but I don't love it yet -- any help is appreciated!

I think you're off to a good start. My only suggestion would be to simplify it a little by removing a color on the gel. I really like all the colors you're using, but it may just be that I haven't gotten used to the new get schemes yet. Maybe play around with the black/red flake or silver flake/red flake. Not sure if you can use the flake in all hull locations though. Maybe take a look at inboards only there are 3 2011 X-25 up with pictures:

I wish I was facing your dilemma. You're going to have a great boat in a few months!

There are lots more pictures of X-25's on boattrader.com and have been very helpful to me as I think about color schemes for an X-25.

Thanks for those two links... A lot of options there. I wonder if they will allow a different gelcoat scheme from another boat line -- in this case the CSX 220. Like this quick-and-dirty photoshop:

Looks like the previous switch style gel-which I really like. I'm sure that in a few years the new gel style will grow on me, but I really like where you're headed with the picture you posted.

Available at all dealers but not on the website until January was the last comment I saw from MC.

Oh a question for those of you who have looked at or ordered a 2011, does the new tower come in coloured options?

I'm not a fan of it all shiny but in black on Parks' boat it looked awesome.

Here is what my 2010 X25 looks like both in the design a boat and the finished product. The color in the design a boat picture is the Pro-Tour Red but changed my mind when I finally ordered it to the Viper Red on the dealerís recommendation that the Viper would look better and resale better. Iím extremely happy with the way it turned out.

The painted towers are not an option in the build-a-boat but that doesn't mean they won't do it. There was an all-white tower on the floor in one of the assembly areas when I was there. The colors need to be in by Friday so I can ask then if nobody has answered you yet.

Thanks for posting pictures -- keep them coming! If anyone has a black or navy base hull (in any boat, not just a 25) I would be really interested in that since I'm almost positive it won't be white.

I have been all over google and the online sales sites but most of those pictures are terrible quality

These are great, Maristarman. It seems the dealers mostly went conservative when picking their boat show models! Not a flake to be found...

PS I am pretty sure we demoed that x15. The bright blue is really nice in person.

Here is my X2:

Navy and gunmetal flake. I love the flake and I don't think anyone does it as well as MC. You have to see the gunmetal in person to fully appreciate it.

Yes! That is very close to what I want -- just don't want the white below the waterline. how close is the navy color to the navy flake? I assume that the trailer is navy: do you have any closeup pictures that shows the two colors?

The Flake is really nice, and reminds me of the old school flake colors. Curious on the earlier model hull there is a Notch about
2/3'rds of the way back on the bottom portion of hull, which is Not present on the newer models. Is it functional or just for a little cool spray of water...?

I didn't look at navy flake... just the normal silver flake and the gunmetal flake that my boat has. The gunmetal is so nice because is almost adapts to the lighting and what is around it: sometimes is looks silver, other times you see hints of blue or even purple in it.

Yes, the trailer is navy.

Here is one close up of the boat that I saw at Fanfare which inspired my boat.

Here my boat inside at the dealership after just being delivered from the factory.

The transom just has that tiny stripe of flake, so it's not the best comparison of the two colors, but it's one of the few closeups I have.

Thank you for the extra pics. I thought that was navy flake + silver flake not Navy + gunmetal. it all starts to run together after a while! 8p

Gunmetal looks awesome in person, I agree.

I've got a friend who's looking at a similar color scheme to yours noted in the original post. His is on an X-2, and is trying to firm up. He's looking at those same colors, and cannot decide whether or not to go pro tour red, or regular red. Our dealer has told us that the darker red does not look as good with black and silver since they're all dark colors, he suggests the std red, or red flake.

Currently, his preferred scheme is..

- Black where yours is Red (side hull and bottom hull)
- Red where yours is silver flake
- Silver flake where yours is black.

One comment on the red portions of the interior. I saw this in person on a 2011 X-25 last week and any color besides grey, white, or titanium comes in a different fabric... its weird, like jean fabric, and I hated it. looks like it will easily tear, and stain. Porous looking.

Also, cant tell from your dealer build a boat, but i agree with going with mostly grey interior rather than white, helps with stains, and doesnt retract heat too bad.

Thanks, Scott. I would be a-ok with that combination but here's what I don't like about the 2011 gel schemes: If I configure a boat to use the same scheme I end up with one of these pictured below. The "switch" style extends the base hull color all the way up to the rub rail and the "slider" just looks funny to me. Also this year's X stickers aren't growing on me at all. I almost prefer the early 2000's tribal!

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far -- I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer to see if I can use the 225v or CSX220 patterns on the X25.

I agree... but from my experience the boats look a heck of a lot better in person than they do on the design a boat page. Just keep that in mind when playing around on there. Good luck in your decision and look forward to seeing the finished product.

Great point about the seats... Check out these pics I got at fanfair:

1st: X25 with mostly carbon flint and Med blue (you can clearly see that fabric-y material)
2nd: XStar with mostly carbon flint and black (the black was the same material as the carbon)
3rd: X2 closeup of the sunpad with carbon dove and flint. The new vinyl is really awesome.

Boat looks great! If it ever makes it's way to Northern Idaho you have to promise to take all of us out for a pull. Congratulations, you're going to love you're new boat. I noticed my dealer had a new X-2 on the lot today as I drove by on the freeway-may have to run over Sunday and take a look at the new gel.

Got my first peek at the new boat today. It's still too cold to un-winterize it so it's just waiting for the spring like the rest of us. Here's some pics (excuse my iPhone's camera)....

Gonna restart this thread anyone seen a black mastercraft logo on the 2011 or 2012s gunmetal? Wondering how well the black lettering will show on the gunmetal?
