I just bought a '95 Maristar 225. The engine and transmission idiot lights don't come on when I start it up. Does anybody know if they turn on for a few seconds similar to a car? (I would think they would) Or do they turn on only when there is trouble.

Ideally these lights would be nice to have working properly. Thanks

Maybe the check connector is disconnected... I know on my LT-1 that happened and the check engine light wouldn't come on until I plugged the two connectors together again. Mine were located near the back of the engine above the transmission.

On my 95 Maristar 200, the lights do not come on unless there is a problem. I haven't figured out the wiring exactly, but I do know for a fact that there are two temperature sensors on my intake manifold. One operates the temperature gauge and if I jumper the other sensor to ground, the Engine Temp light will come on. I'm still trying to figure out which one goes to the ECM because the schematic doesn't match my wire colors.
