Hey everyone! I am new to the forum, and I have some questions about a 2000 Sportstar. I would like to find as many pictures and info as I can on this model. I have used the search function... but haven't really found any good pictures. I am really debating on buying one and need all the info I can get.

Thanks!

I have a friend who owns a '99 Sportstar. I've never wakeboarded behind it, but ski behind it regularly. It has a great slalom wake. I believe that his has the 310 HP engine and has plenty of power. It is my understanding that this model was designed as a budget Prostar. Compared to my Prostar 205 of the same year the carpet on the Sportstar is not quite as plush, the vinyl pattern is more basic and the motor box on the Sportstar is all fiberglass. Other than that, I don't see much difference in quality. He has a Samson Tower on his. These are the only pics I could come up with.

Thanks for the pics... I would imagine with the right amount of ballast it could produce a nice wake. Do you happen to know how many speakers are in the boat... the one I am looking at only has 2... this doesn't seem right to me?

This is a 1998 but might be very similar. Welcome to TT.

this was my first Mastercraft and first boat...1999 Sportstar closed bow. It had cheaper vinyl, thinner carpet, fiberglass motorbox, upholstered foam block back seat.....all the stuff that doesn't matter

The Sportstar is a budget model Prostar. 2 speakers is most likely correct, as it was a budget boat. I really think they should still make it, because it would sell great I bet. Its interior is no different than a Moomba Outback (meaning thinner, cheaper).
it was based off the 95-97 hulls. If the 95-97 prostar made good boarding wakes, then the Sportstar would too. I do not know though, as I am a skier.

What do you think a 2000 Model is worth... in good shape, around 250 hrs. with the 310hp engine?

Open bow or closed bow?

Closed Bow

I sold my '99 S.Star 2 years ago for 16.5 but it was an open bow with 170 on it. I'd guess a CB SS with 250 would be 13.5ish w/o knowing anything else about it. Just my guess.

I'm assuming a single axle trailer???

Yep single axle

The gauges do not look right for a 2000. My guess is something older than '99 based on what my friends looks like.

Yeah their is something a little fishy about it... I may just hold out for a prostar... I'd really like to find a 95' Prostar. They are alot nicer.

I bet you could find a Prostar in better shape. But, that is not saying that the SS is a bad boat. its a great boat, but the person w/ that one doesnt care for the interior it looks like. a 95 thru 97 Prostar 190, same boat, slightly better (thicker carpet and skins) interior.
