On my '03 X30 I think we've got a decent wakesurf wake dialed in but would love to see some of yours to compare to.

I've got stock ballast plus tubesac (~400#) in the bow, extra 450# in the surf side locker, and another 450# in the middle pushed against the surf side seats. We usually go about 10 mph.

To get started here's one of my starboard wake... port is a bit cleaner but I didn't find a good picture.

BTW, it's not me in the picture... I'd be in FRONT of the wake. ;)

Hey SpryBeast, always good to see another surfer at it especially in a X-30. I have one also and we do a great deal of surfing during the summer. Put it away yesterday for the winter though. Have some pictures in my online album surfing behind the X-30 if you want to view. Looks good - keep dialing it in!

This is behind my X45. I have posted this pic a number of times. This time is interesting because I think it is within a 1/2 mile of where your pic was taken. Thsi is near the mouth of padre canyon in padre bay.

Here is one behind our prostar 205 DD. Not too bad for a ski boat!

What is your set up? I'm picking up a 97 ps205 in a few days and have been looking around for the right combination before I just start buying fat sacks at random.

I'll Play - 09' X2, port stock full + 450lb sack in the port locker. KGB full + 350lb sack down the center. We only had 4 people in the boat, max it out to 10 people and the wave gets another 1 foot higher and still very clean. We run at 9 to 10.5MPH depending on people in the boat and water depth.

I have a 1000lb Barefoot International "Inboard Surf Sac" and Tsunami pump if you are interested. I used it in a 1996 PS 190 and it worked well. Have moved on to V-drives and don't need it anymore (used 5 times total). $250 shipped for the whole package

Sac $399.00

Padre Bay at Powell is THE BEST place that I have ever boated. I don't have surfing pics from there however. Here are a couple from my X30 at Sand Hollow a few miles from St. George, UT. 750# in the port hatch, 400# on the port seats, 400# in the port bow, all hard-tanks full.

I also included a couple of gratuitous pics of great western lakes for you flat-landers who only boat on mud-lined, brown-water lakes :)

1st from above the north end of Flaming Gorge and secondly, a typical Powell morning.

Enjoy.

The water in these pics looks amazing. A far cry from my lake here at home that is fed by the Big Muddy River:(

TallRedRider, you're right, that was taken in Gunsight Bay. And since we're doing Powell pics, here are a couple more from earlier this month. And no, that's not me on the board either. BTW, love the Ginsu.

Here is one looking out to the main part of the bay from the end of Padre canyon. Added surf pic to keep it on topic. Surf wake was from my old, 205V X-star.

Surf Padre!

Looks like Dreddy and I are stalking each other...

Can you tell that this:

is the same place as this:

I think your picture is taken about 50 yards to the left of mine. Too bad my houseboat is in the way, or you could really tell.

Could very well be almost the same place. We did Bullfrog this year and it just doesn't compare. Padre is just a little far from the gas docks. Other than that... perfect. We had a great time with a big group camping at Lone Rock this year as well, just more people around.

I use about 300# in the rear ski locker on the starboard side, then 750# on the same side next to the motor box. Stick everyone in the boat on that side, but make sure some people sit up front. I have tried with all weight in the rear and it doesn't work nearly as well. My 2000 handles this perfectly and we can surf the wave as long as we want. It isn't huge, but it is still fun, plus we can ski almost flat wakes early in the morning.

Good luck with your new PS 205. We love ours.

lake powell is simply a phenomenal place to boat. i'm planning a trip there next summer for 5 days on a houseboat coming out of the Antelope Point Marina near Page. I have a new csx to break in on that lake!!
