I'm looking at installing a tower on my 98 Prostar 205 and I'm looking for feedback from those of you that have after market towers on your boat. What tower did you go with? Was the install difficult? Does it rattle or is it tight? As well as any other info your willing to provide. Thank you in advance for your help.

My monster tower arrivest today, I will let you know all the details after i install it. However that won't be for another weak since i'm leaving for a cruise on sunday. Anyway, i'll let you know. Also if you do a search for 'tower' you'll find a whole bunch of different towers to choose from and read about.

Monster Towers seem to be the best price going. I've HEARD they are fairly easy to install, don't flex/rattle and are about the best bang for the buck. $1195 plus free shipping.

I installed my monster tower a month ago, it's great. I mounted four Sony Xplode liquid audio speakers with a 6 light bar, in addition, I put two wakeboard racks on the sides, it looks great. 89 tristar 190! Unfortunately, my wife is making me choose between my Mastercraft or my 27' SeaRay w/ dual 454's that I just bought, she feels two boats is one too many, women? Seriously, Monster is the most affordable and great looking that I could find.

New Dimension Towers will give you the OEM look. A little more expensive at $2450 including shipping.

I like the looks of the 13th floor towers. I know someone who had one on an 01 205V.

the monster tower was about a 12-pack job. No squeks, no rattles.

I have a 13th Floor on my 2000 205. I like the more custom look, but it was more expensive than a monster tower.

I have a Big Air H20 tower and have been very happy with it. It was pretty easy to install and was very reasonably priced. (Just under $1000 delivered to my door) They had exceptional customer service as well.

My Monster Tower is about 8" over windshield height folded, but it does fit into a 6'10" garage door.

I just put a Skylon extreme Pro XT tower on my 205 and man do I love it. I will post some pics shortly. It is very rigid for a swoop tower and it looks better than the monster. I lucked out and talked my MC dealer into selling it to me for dealer cost since I wasn't real happy with them. :D There are some good shots of it on www.wakeside.com and also www.skylonsports.com

The front legs detach with an allen wrench and the rest of the tower does not stick up much higher than the windshield. the boat fits through a standard height garage door. I'd show you a picture, but I can't find my digital camera right now.

Is there somethign up with the 98-00 PS 190 for installing towers, because everyone needs a factory install in TN.
Why is this?

This is the tower I have on my boat. It's a bit more expensive but for me it was well worth the cash.

I have an Ichor on my 205....... it's far more sturdy than the factory towers & it breaks down under a factory cover.

AirJunky, that is one good looking boat. I like your tower as well. I can't help but notice your swim platform. What is it made of? Doesn't look like teak or fiberglass, but perhaps its the angle and lighting.

Thanks Kell,
Why don't you come check it out sometime. ;) I'll be in town the next couple of weeks & would love to have you join us to ride sometime.
Seriously, the swimstep is a factory glass step covered with Traxx (http://airjunky.com/traxxed)

Are you happy with the Traxx padding? Was it easy to install? Does it fit with one piece or are there cuts and manipulations that have to be done to it. Also, after it gets wet, does it try to peel up or anything that is an issue? Sorry for all the questions, just curious and thinking about putting some down on my ride.

Hi Adkins1966.... I love the stuff. It's a neoprene/rubber sheet & the pressure sensitive adhesive make it stick to a smooth fiberglass surface easily. I've had the boat rafted up with a dozen others & had people walk from several boats over to come & check it out. They walk on it & love it...... it's not soft like a wetsuit, but not hard rubber either. It's definitely a sacrificial piece that protects the boat. I'd guess it lasts for several years pretty easily, depending on how much use/abuse it gets.
Thanks Kell,
