I am not the one in the wrong here. The statements that you wrote in the quote that is closed are not accurate.
Your quote is listed below with my remarks in red.
I guess I owe an explanation here! I guess the big thing is that "YES" you did drive from Atlanta to get here. Yes we took photos and emailed them to you with ALL the info that you requested prior to you driving down here. The pictures were taken from a distance and your info said the boat has 450 hours and is in PERFECT shape. The last time I checked, PERFECT meant the hour meter works, the tach works, the ballast system works. Hell, I thought PERFECT meant everything works. Maybe your dictionary has a different definition. Just admit it - you lied. But I think you have failed to make the final point. You made offers on the boat that the owner DID NOT accept based on what you feel needed to be done. Somewhat true - We agreed to $49K including a brand new trailer if the boat was PERFECT like you said it was. I called you BEFORE I came and asked how much of the $49K was the trailer. Your reply was $4500. I said I will buy my own trailer. Simple math says $49K-$4.5K=$44.5K. While I was on my way to Tampa, I start receiving emails saying that you cant do $44.5K now. Why not? The trailer was $4500 from a different company. The boat price should still be the exact same ($44.5K). I did make offers that I guess were refused by the owner later. Hell, you guys couldnt get in touch with him for over a month. So who knows if this is ture. I had already moved on to other boats before you guys even got an answer. And just so everyone on here knows, I asked the owner to split the cost of REPAIRING everything on HIS PERFECT BOAT. I definatley do not think that I was asking to much. If he had already taken these flaws into consideration before pricing the boat, he flat out lied in his ad stating the boat is perfect. It was/is far from perfect. We had to get someone to hook up to the motor to find out there were 220 more hours on the boat than what you said in the INFO you have me. All the issues that you requested where going to be taken care of. This was a CONSIGNED boat not on our lot. As I recall you had other X45s that you where looking at, but they where not in your price range. Well, if it was a consignment boat, why was it a requirement that I finance the boat through you to get a lower price? I actually paid $15K more for a boat that was 50 times nicer, a year newer and has 600 hours less than yours. I think I did okay. Money was not the issue. I was simply offering what the boat was worth in the kind of condition it was/is in. And because I am a nice guy, I was going to try to use you your finance lady when I purchased my boat because I like her. Well, I found out later that you severed your ties with her in between me viewing your boat and buying the boat that I purchased. You had told me earlier that she was best in the business. Wierd, huh?
If this is your opportunity to "PILE ON" then go for it. I am not trying to. I am just tired of seeing how you insult people the way you do. I am not asking for the thread to be deleted. I will defend myself and not run. If I am such a BAD dealer. I think that it would have come out over 2000 posts ago. Some of your post are great. You helped me with questions on Stars and Stripes and I really appreciated it. With that said, half of your 5,000,0000 post are negative stabs at people. If they do not buy YOUR product, you degrade them. You forget this is a PUBLIC FORUM. All are entitled. I couldnt agree more. This why I piped in and told my story. It seems that you have ruffled many feathers and not just mine.
There are 2 sides to your intended purchase. You made a decision not to purchase. Of course I did. The boat was nowhere near the condition that the ad on YOUR website describes. Your response to me was that you just listed the boat the way the owner described it to you. Maybe you should have taken a look at it before you put your name behind it. Plus, the boat was serviced at your dealership on a regular basis according to you. Seems that you would have remembered the condition of boat if you guys worked on it so much. You definately should have known that it had 220 more hours on it. Either you already knew from your service records or they used the boat around the clock since the last time it was serviced by you. Just doesnt add up.I think that if you look at the owners weekends that have been saved by us taking the extra effort to resolve many an issue. It totally out weighs this one unfortunate event. If you dont think I was not upset that would could not make a deal happen you are wrong.
You did your due diligence and we provided you the info requested. $500 in repairs and a stern buff out are not that big of a deal. Just the cost to replace the seats that had actual tears in them was $1950 without installation. I have no idea where you are coming up with $500.
Hey maybe I need to tighten up a little. My place on this FORUM is different than owners. I provide a service and do our best to make customers happy no matter who they are or where they reside. Fault me for that...I have NEVER had an issue on this site over a boat sale NEVER. With that said. Sorry we could not make a deal happen!!! I do not wish you or your dealership any harm. I actually hope that you sale tons of boats so people can enjoy the best boat on the market in my opinion. I just think you should tell the truth up front and not make people waste their time and money. If I had known that half of the stuff on the boat did not work, I would have NEVER taken a day off of work to drive down to Tampa. This is what bothered me more than anything. Never did I get an apology of any kind when you guys could clearly tell that I was pissed about driving that far to see a boat that was nowhere near the condition as you described.
The X45 is under DEP. It is going to Turkey. The new owner requested a person come and survey the boat. All was fine. A new trailer arrives on Tues for it, then the balance of the funds will be wired in...so now ya know. Like I said before, I am happy for you that you sold the boat. I think I ended up with a boat that I will be whole lot happier with anyway. Good Day.
