Any tips or good products to use would be great.

My two brothers, dad and I will be redoing ours this weekend on our 99 190.

We have never done this before so anything is great.

Per George's instructions. Sand the platform and apply regular old Starbrite teak oil. Leave it in the sun to dry. Then start using the finer grains of sand paper in between coats. Reapply oil, dry, repeat.

With Starbrite on short supply for some reason, I used amazon for a touchup this year. Looks good IMO.

I've used Watco Teak Oil for the past couple of years and it seems to work great.

The 3-step Starbrite package worked perfectly on mine without having to sand. Mine is also a '99 but it only had 85 hours on it when I bought it this past Spring.

I went through a different approach. I used 0000 steel wool. Then I bought a product called sikkens. It only took 1 coat and it's been on for 3 years. There are a few places that has popped because people stading on it with wake boards on, etc. What I liked about it the most it didn't take away from the teaks look, only added to it.

Thanks for all the advice.

We got ours last August with 89 hours on it.
What color is yours?

I bought a white w/ green OB SportStar that had been kept at a marina on a lift. The trailer still had original tires with the little knobs still on them.

The platform was the only thing that had been neglected. It was completely light gray when I got it. It literally took me about 2 hours one day and 20 minutes the next to restore the platform to new. Make sure that you let the oil coats soak in and before applying the next.

Can you buy this kind of stuff locally, like at Home Depot, or do you have to order it? I need to do mine also, it's getting pretty grey...

I got mine at Academy which is a sports store like the old Oshman's and Dick's Sporting Goods that I have locally. I would think that you could order it from Overton's, Barts, Bass Proshops or Cabela's if you don't have a good sporting goods store locally.

I get Watco Teak oil from Lowes. It's next to the stains and such.
