I don't know if it's better, because I haven't used a fat seat, but I have been really happy with 2 400 (they expand to 500 if you pump them up totally full) fatsacs ....v-drive set. If we use both, we take out the seat and we can surf if we put them in an L shape, or get decent wakeboard air with both running front to back and 2 or three people up front to balance it out a bit. We can take a trick out to the flats with it set up like that. The surf wake is just below or at knee level. I like the versatility it gives, and they can be sat on, our boards go on them....durable as heck. (1987 PS190)

Good luck.

It is almost criminal to do it to a tournament boat... so I am guilty as charged.

I have a '98 190 and we use the fatseat for wakeboarding. Works well because you don't loose the rear seats.

With the Fat seat filled tight and an additional few hundred pound partially filled fat sac on the port side beside the engine box we can wakesurf too.... using a vintage Longboard. Toss the rope and hang ten.

I have a fat seat in my 91 190. Works great. I fill with air so I have a place for people to sit but no extra weight for skiing or footing, and fill with water for boarding and surfing. Careful when filling it though, you get A LOT of weight quick with that thing. I don't think I've ever filled it all the way with water.

Also consider getting something for the bow, all that weight on the back makes it hard to get on plane.
