As some of you may know, our home on the lake was destroyed by fire this past April, and having been treated like a piece of fresh prison meat by the insurance company, I need to raise some cash, so I am selling my beloved 1971 S&S...
It's posted on the NH Craigslist.
I hope someone here can buy it, as I really hope it goes to a good home.
Feel free to send me a private message here if anyone's interested, and we can discuss details.
Ps - to the dear mods, can you leave this post in the GD section at least for a while? Much more traffic here, I think.
Thanks!

Sorry to see you're having to sell the 71. Is there an older one owned by anyone on this forum?
LachNess

As far as I know it is the oldest on here. I think Kas's '72 is the next closest. I really haven't heard of another one as old anywhere with the exception of the '68 at the factory.
Maybe Jim at BAWS would like to restore it for his showroom...(wink wink)
Jim?...

I had a 1973 that we where going to restore for that purpose. Exact colors of yours
A little hint...You need photos to sell a boat. It sparks interest. Dont expect folks to
email you and beg for photos. They need to be in your ad already. They can always request more
Fair price for a NE boat. Good luck with the sale. You still have some season left up there until it snows in 3 weeks HA HA HA

Well, we're actually about an hour south of you now, decided I'm not shoveling any more fcuking snow... But the attempted slam is noted... Lol
If my computer along with all photos hadn't been incinerated in the fire, I would have posted pics. Next time I get up there I'll have to pull it out of the barn and snap a few. Hasn't been out since I winterized it last Nov.
And for the record, I'm no Sally. I normally ski from Apr thru late Oct/ Nov...

If you have any specific problems with your insurance company I can pass them off to my wife who is an agent. She always goes to bat for her customers and ends up getting them money when her company says that they weren't covered. If you like, you can send me a PM or post it up. Insurance does vary from state to state but she is a wizz at this kind of thing.

Thanks for the gracious offer. Truly appreciate it.
I'm still wrangling with them, but I may take you up on that.
It's amazing to me how cold and heartless these "F"ers are in the aftermath of a young family being displaced and literally all of our possessions having been destroyed.
Not sure how they sleep at night.
... Oh yeah, they DON'T sleep at night. They're bloodsuckers!
Ahem... Sorry. Rant over.

That's bs you need a different INS. Company. If you have the right coverage and policy is paid you shouldn't have to fight with an insurance company.

Hey Jim,
How about a supportive, positive comment about someone beside you who has a boat for sale??? If this was your boat you'd have the plaid jacket beaming enough to be seen from the moon.
NO wonder Harold ...............
loch, sorry to hear what you are going thru first. but i do sleep good at night as a insurance agent, along with my companies adjusters and i will bet monte. he used to post a lot here but we dont here from him much any more.
something is up if it has taken this long on somebody's part. i would need to know the true facts of everything. trust me i am pretty sure all states have 90 days for you to send them the total proof of loss and then they have 30 days to accept or reject your form.
we are way beyond that now.
feel free to pm me if you have any questions, and yes getting ready to go to sleep.:D
ps, before i became a agent 10 plus years ago, i was a claims adjuster and also handled all of our fruad for my area. also have you filed a complaint with your state insurance office?

We may not have the story, but don't get me started on insurance companies. I hear horror stories from my wife on a weekly basis. Customers have their claims denied because of some idiot high up on the company ladder who can't read an insurance policy. I've only been involved in one accident my entire life, and it was when a lawyer backed into my car as I was driving through a parking lot. He wanted to just swap information but I called the cops because it was a lot of damage to my restored 67 Cougar. His adjuster came and looked at the car and they sent me a check for about 1/3 of my lowest estimate. Then his insurance company started dropping hints that the accident could have been my fault. I ended up filing a law suit against the lawyer (I had an accident report) and then his insurance company sends me a check for the full amount of my repairs.

anyone know how to trace that and come up with a name and address?

This is all I found for free, but you might want to spend the $4.95 to get the phone number records from this site:

That's terrible! Sorry to hear that.
Let every boat repair shop, dealer know. Post it on craigslist everywhere within a few hundred mi. Contact all the DNR, Fish and Game, etc in your surrounding states as well. That's the only brown '71 S&S on the lake for sure. SOmeone would have to try and use it, otherwise why steal it? For parts? Not really. You get a hull and a 40year old FOrd 302 engine. Not really worth anything for parts.
Start a new thread here too so that everyone on TMC around the country can keep a lookout for it.
I hope you find the person who did this yourself and there are no witnesses!
Has the guy who looked at it returned any calls from you, or have you called him since? Get the local PD involved where he lives too, if you can trace him to the correct town.

Yes, it would be nice if each year there was one day allotted for exacting biblical justice upon the many scumbags on earth.
I do believe the guy who came to look at the boat was involved.
The local police have done nothing in the week since it disappeared.
I suggested to the good officer who is "heading up the investigation" that it might be a good idea to trace the phone number, identify the person through DMV photo so I could at least see if it's the guy that came to look at the boat. Perhaps notify the police in the town where he lives so they could drive by and see if there's a boat in his yard...
He seemed to think that might be a good idea. He told me that they have a really good system for tracking this sort of thing and that "when he gets a chance" he could look into that...
I feel awful. I had no idea that crime was so rampant in Pittsfield New Hampshire that they really don't have time to look into my theft. Good thing they're out there solving real crimes.
Sorry for the blatant sarcasm, but a week into this I'm not really expecting anything.
What a damn shame.
Thx for the good thoughts though, friends.
I shall persevere!
