View Full Version : Pickup in fuel Tank

Anyone know what is on the end of the pickup in the fuel tank on a 1992 Prostar? I recall there is a black end to it. Is this a filter or is the tube just open to the tank. I seem to have an issue with stalling after running at speed for a while. I suspect fuel starvation. I have removed all fuel, replaced the fuel water separator, drained the float bowl. I also checked the antisiphon valve. I could not get the pickup out without removing the plate at the top of the tank. Before I do so I wanted to know what was there to look at first. Anyone know? Thanks.

hi there is a black screen at the bottom of the fuel pick up, it is connected to a rigid straight hose like tube.

Thanks. So it is feasible that the pickup is clogged and causing a fuel flow issue.
