So I was out this weekend, first outing since the boat was left in the water for 2 weeks. Speedo worked fine. Stopped for a moment then started to cruise again and speedo was dead, VDIG speed was also dead and of course the PP would not kick in. Stopped, swam under the boat (Not Fun) and spun the paddle wheel by hand, restarted the boat and speedo worked fine.
So my question is this, possibly something was stuck in the paddle wheel, not sure since in the water it’s really hard to see, however is there some type of maintenance/lube you guys do on the paddle wheel?
Thanks

I keep a paperclip in the cupholder and clean them everytime I swim...

You clean the paddlewheel with a paperclip or older airguides?
I have never heard of lubing the wheel, but have had mine get clogged. Usually works itself out.

Yeah, he's talking about one of the airmar style paddle wheels mounted underneath the boat from the sound of it.

Never lubed mine. Only once has something gotten lodged in the wheel that didn't dislodge itself.

Yes it is, I guess it was just something lodged in there! Again, just curious to others experience. '09 boat with about 150 hrs. Never an issue until yesterday, thought maybe it was gummed up from sitting in the water for 2 weeks, the bottom of the boat had a lot of scum on it when I got home that had to be scrubbed off.
I will probably give it a good squirt with the hose!
Thanks guys!
