i have a borg warner tranny. nothing happend. one day the prop just wouldnt spin, the linkage is moving there is fluid, but no forward and no reverse, no grinding noises, i just dont know

Check the damper plate. It may have broken. Pull the starter and look in the bell housing for metal shavings.

I think the reason would be age and wear.

Was tranny working the last time you used it? Usually the damper fails while the boat is in gear. You would most likley hear noise from the bell housing. I don't think your forward and reverse clutch plates could be worn out at the same time. I might be something to do with the pump that provides the fluid to either the forward or reverse plates.

yes everything was fine. no noises, the boat only has 500 hours . yea the boat was fine shut it off loaded it up. went to the lake next day. nothin
