This weekend was nuts on our lake..common theme I know.

My dock is right next to the show ski area, so I get to watch the ski team practice every night, and get a great view of the show. Since I just bought an X7, I was watching the usual armada of tow boats that the team uses during the show more than anything else. Watching boat after boat right behind each other go through the same water at the same speed gives you an interesting perspective. I noticed a few things, and wanted to get your thoughts.

First, there were 5 inboards that pulled during the show, one was a 197 and the rest were Malibus. One LXI, and the rest were responses.

Anyway, I thought I noticed that the nose on the Malibus were a little lower through the chop, and the Mastercraft bounced a little more. Also, it seems like my boat throws a lot bigger wake than my neighbors Response. These are not good or bad things, just observations. At 34mph the wakes look similar, but at 14mph (teaching kids to ski) my 197 makes a HUGE wake compared to the Malibu.

Now that I think about it, my boat also might be 1000lbs heavier...with the tower and being larger than the stripped down malibu.

Just observations, that made me curious.

I can't provide any personal perspective, but my next-door neighbor belongs to a local ski club, and even though he owns a Ski Nautique, he says the Malibus have the best ski wake of anything he's skied behind.
