Can some one please advise if they have replaced the insulation in thier engine cover.

I have a 83 Stars and Stripes and I am going to replace it with the product from this site
http://www.lobucrod.com/index.html
as described in previous threads.

It comes 4' but was wondering if anyone has replaced theirs what ammount they ordered.

Thank you

I sent for their free sample. Quality looks great, but it strikes me as a little thin. The price sure is right.

anything has to be better than that foam though. I cannot see how the foam really helps a whole lot. Plus, I like the fire rating... I'm sure the foam would go up in flames with just a spark.

Probably not really flammable, but can you imagine the mess it would make from melting and dripping?

Interesting...I don't think the '83 came with insulation. Probably installed by PO.

Yes Thanks it was prob the PO it had foam on the inside which when I got it was a mess so I stripped it out and didnt replace. But having seen the posts thought it was a factory fit. So might just do without then.

There are several good threads here dealing with this. Check out http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=30120
where I posted a link to McMaster Carr. That's where I got my insulation from.
