Back in about '93 the HO rep came to town with a ski boat and gave ski demos. They had a ski with a hook on the top/front that the rope hooked into and then came out once up. It basically pulled your ski out of the water until you were up. Anyone know if this was this a HO specific item or an aftermarket add on? I would really like to find something like this to add to my ski... any ideas?

Never seen this, but this is essentially the same concept as the deep vee handle. You put your slalom ski in the deep vee on the rope and it keeps your ski straight and tip up (out of the water) until you're up.

Sounds like the tow hook used on hydroslide's kneeboards...I tried that yesterdayday for the first time, ill stick with the old way

I remember seeing that advertised a number of years ago. It looked like it would help somebody that does not have the arm strength to get pulled out of the water.

I also remember seeing a older gentleman that camped near me having a simular homemade setup. The downside was if he somehow fell while getting up he could be drug by the ski that didnt release from the rope. It looked like the HO had a hook on the ski that would easly slip off preventing that problem.
