Lealing in the ski compartment 1004 205

I have a lot of water in the ski compartment leaking from the bilge area. I changed the plug and then saw that it was comming from the gasget the surrounds the plug. I would like to silicon this area, but it is always wet. If I plow the boat and pump the bilges there is still some residual water. If I stop the boat water flows from the bilge foward to the ski locker.

So the question is: is there any product that I can apply "wet" that will work? Or do you have more intelligent suggestions? No hair dryers, please.

I would try clear silicone after the ski locker is totally dry with the boat on the trailer. I think I have the same problem with my 03 Maristar 230.
Just noticed today water is getting into ski locker from somewhere.
Maybe my gasket is bad too. Will test tomorrow with a hose while it's on the trailer.

I looked at mine and it was leaking from the plastic hardware surrounding the plug. Took it off and sealed it with clear silicone RTV.
There was NO GASKET and no sealer from the factory, and the screws were not tight either. (boat is a 2003)
The silicone should do the trick. I'll water test it on friday.
