Yesterday I was out with the family on my '02 Maristar w/ 8.1L. Late in the afternoon, the boat refused to fire. It had ran perfectly all day. I filled the tank earlier in the day and had wakeboarded and surfed for the better part of the day. I charged the batteries the previous night as well. I checked the fuel rail and found pressurized fuel via the schrader valve (replaced the fuel pump last year after running the tank dry OUCH $$$)

The engine turns over rapidly as normal. The clip on the safety switch is attached. I tried putting the boat in neutral and pumping some fuel to it. It has never needed that. I am completely stumped. It went from perfect to this with no apparent event in between ??

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated

Got spark to the plugs? You have fuel to the rail but is it firing? Got to have fuel, fire, compression, exhaust----and this all has to be done in time. You semi eliminated a fuel problem. Now eliminate whether it is firing. Just my way of doing things. Pumping the throttle on a fuel injected engine is usually a waste of time unless they have added accelerator pumps to fuel injection.

Sooooo, went out to the boat and pulled a spark plug. Turned over the engine and there is spark. I put the plug back in and........ The boat fired right up ???????????

The only thing I "changed" was: Oil was low at the lake,, still on the dip stick at the "add" line. I put in a quart and a half on the lake. Boat still did not fire after repeated tries. Is there a low oil level / low pressure safety ?

Gremlins or safety switches? I have no ideal about a low oil level switch on your model boat but my generator and lawn mower have one.
