I am sure most of the loyal Waterski magazine readers like myself saw the longboarding article. Being a big slalom ski, wakeboard, wakeskate and surfer but not living on a lake means I cannot get my daily fix. So as Waterski stated longboarding is a good second option. My two boys and I have actually started a custom longboard company we liked it so much.

We have a crew around here that will go out several evenings a week and ride longboards, that adrenaline rush is awesome!
Even have a few buddies that custom made their boards from old wooden water skiis.

Cool. As Bob told me when I got mine, keep the ski shallow and tucked underneath you out of the hole. Carve your turns. Don't bury the tail
Fun ski. But it rides quite differently from your typical slalom ski.

Well it's too cold for the Mastercraft, but it's not too cold for some good old Longboarding action. Check out what we have been up to at GET Longboards. www.getlongboards.weebly.com

That looks like a blast!
OK, a few questions due to my ignorance:
1. I assume with the board shape and wheel placement you can not really ollie the board? Do they make long boards with a kick plate at the end to allow an ollie to clear a curb?
2. I have seen some folks with slightly longer boards and a stick with a rubber tip for propulsion. Is this still a form of long boarding or is it called something else?
3. What do you call long boarding off road with the larger wheels?
I got one of these yesterday for my birthday...the big stick rocks!
