My points are about due to be changed, I have a 1988 Tristar, 351 Indmar. Has anyone done the drop in electronic ignition change over? Did it make any difference?

My understanding is that it is a nice mod.

Check out this link (http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=3533&highlight=electronic+ignition).

It was the best $107 I spent on my '87 Prostar. Immediately noticable when especially when starting it cold.

I had good luck with the Hot Spark kit and at $60 and free US shipping it is a lot cheaper than the others. One tip for you is you may want to measure your distributor cam before ordering. My 88 351W had a 25mm which apparently is normally found in the clip on cap distributor, but mine is a screw down. The regular kit for the screw down cap comes with a magnet sleeve for the 23.75mm cam lobes. I just sent them an email and they sent me the new one right away.
