Hello,

This picture is from my 1995 Maristar 225 VRS gas tank. The top cover leaks. What do i need to order to get that leak fix ? is it a standard parts or an OEM one ?

Will not be an easy chore to get a replacement gasket from a marine supplier. You could remove that panel and be careful with the gasket to make a new one. Maybe it is as simple as using a little non-permanent locktite to hold the screws down.

Looks to me like the head of one of the phillips screws is striped/rounded out and cannot be tightened.

Could it be as simple as to put in a new screw and tighten it up?

Regardless, get it fixed before it goes boom.

The screw pattern on the sender isn't set up so the holes are equidistant from each other. If it's rotated so the sender's holes don't match the inserts in the tank, it will leak. That screw does need to be replaced. When you remove the plate, make sure there's no grit or anything between the gasket and tank.

Where is it leaking from? The sending unit or between the tank and plate?

Hello,

The leak is comming from between the tank and the plate.

this week we hit a huge rock in the lake and destroyed our props, shaft, struts, rudder. lots of fiberglass dammage.

I already asked our dealer to fix the leak...
We had a lot of pleasure with our first boat but also really unlucky..

We were going at 16 mph pulling a wakeboarder. My 4 years and 2 years old daughters where in the boat. Everyone is fine. Only material dammage. It took a gas water pump to empty incoming water in the boat. we had coast guard give us a tow to the ramp.
