guage press is always changing. At idle very low and at tow is at 60. Should it move that much. Oil level is good. Brand new engine just wondering

Mine reads about 19-20 at idle and 50-60 at cruising speeds.

Guess the oil guage in your vehicle never moves ! From idle to moving-same principle applies to boat motors

OK SMART AZZ.. I know what your saying about my oil guage vehicle. Just wanted to make sure. I think a little more of the boat than I do my vehicle. Thanks for the laugh and for the quick reply. Love this site, keeps my boat in the water a lot more because of the great help from all of you.

Alot of it depends on the type of pump and bearing clearances. New engines should be a little tight. For example I have a high pressure pump in a motor with performance oriented clearances and it sits at 50-
60psi at idle and will peg the gauge at full throttle
