I am looking at getting a new stereo for my '97 Maristar and would like to know everyones opinion on what is best to replace the factory. I am looking at a Clarion CDM6 but did not know if it would fit in that location. I will be using it to play CD's, ipod, XM radio and very little to no radio. Does anyone have this stereo and if so, how do you like it? Also, does anyone know about the wiring harness and if it comes with one and the mounting for the stereo to fit that location? Thanks!
Replaced my xmdi Clarion in my 2003 Maristar with the cmd6 a few weeks ago. It was really easy because I was able to just plug into the existing wiring harness (one of the advantages of replacing with another Clarion). The opening from the xmd1 was plenty big and the new head unit just slid right in. The cmd6 is not quite as wide as the xmd1 but still fits and looks good. It has all the bells and whistles for ipod, usb, satellite capability, etc...I got it for just under $300 from Amazon.
