Anyone have estimated fuel/gas usage for a basic 04, 310 HP engine compared to the big Cadillac, LQ9. If I upgrade to the bigger engine, how much more fuel/gas will I burn if cruising at 25 MPH or slaloming at 30 MPH.

I've heard the LQ9 is very efficient and may get about the same MPG?

Thanks and best wishes,

I have the LQ9 engine in my 2005 ps190. I had a 1999 SportStar with the 310hp , go it brand new also. I haven't seen a huge difference in consumption. I was expecting the LQ9 to be a little more thirsty but to my surprise so far it's no much more than the 310hp in my opinion.

And by the way, I don't think most people's opinions on here are very "humble".

Give the TBI .5lbs per hour and the LQ9 .45 (more efficient) and it looks like this...

TBI burns 155lbs of fuel per hour at HP peak, or approximately 22 gallons of fuel.

LQ9 burns 175lbs of fuel per hour at HP peak, or approximately 25 gallons of fuel.
