View Full Version : Do I have 4 or 5 drain plugs on motor ?

New to me 87 Supra ts6m. I bought the boat and it was still winterized.
I replaced the 1" round plugs on the back of the risers. I replaced the 2 smaller plugs on each side of the motor. Of those 2; one was back left and the other was on the upper right of the block.

But , there is another smaller brass, threaded plug that was in the bag and I don't know where it belongs.

This one brings the total to 5 plugs. I always thought there was only 4.

I read where one could be under the impeller housing. I couldnt find it.

I failed to mention all these plugs were in a zip lock bag taped to the steering wheel when I bought it along with the main drain plug on the floor of the boat and the drain plug under the ski platform on the back of the boat.

Help please.

** PCM motor.

Is the 'extra' plug smaller than the block plugs? If so, it may be for the transmission cooler, on the bottom of it.

If you were in Clarksville I'd buy you a drink. I looked for over an hour.

You got it. !!!!!

Thank you very much.

If you have a PCM motor on that 87 Supra, check the bottom of the J-tube near the water pump as well.
