Hello all,

They say that "Necessity is the mother of all invention". If that true then here is the invention we made for routing in new exhaust tubes without taking off the top side of the manifolds. I have read many different ways to do this and heard guys struggle putting these on, but when you have double helix hardwall tubes its not easy to bend. The wood collar fits over the tube in 2 pieces and then allows you to have a lever to crank down and kick your foot forward thus bending the tube in an S-shape. Everyones tubes are different but the length of mine were 32" long. Once in place they make a nice swooping bend and no kinks.

This tool allowed us to put two new tubes on in about 30 minutes total.

That's friggin' awesome! You better patent that before someone steals it.

Eh, patent or not to patent, that is the question. People still knock it off even if it was patented. Consider it a contribution to all who own classic MasterCraft boats.

I wouldn't patent it because of what you said above, but you could manufacture and sell the item through some distributor (i.e. Barts).

SOME people have the skills and tools to make that, others don't and would pay to just get one. Of course, if they don't have the skills to make that, they probably don't have the skills to change out the exhaust tubing...

Man, I wish I has seen this yesterday. I wrestled with mine for hours last night. 10 Advil later my back is still hurting.
