The "Check Engine" indicator came on yesterday with it's accompanying audio warning on the MCX equipped 2007 X2 SS. Was able to turn off the indicator and alarm by hitting the display selector, but it came on again and again - only under load.
Oil pressure was normal (40-60) as was the engine temp (~160). No unusual sounds. No power loss. Idle and acceleration all normal. Towed our riders back to the ramp and put it away.
Any ideas? Does this craft have a diagnostics port that a qualified MS tech can plug into?
Clueless. Hope you can help.

If you have disconnected / reconnected the battery recently, this can happen. The alarm indicates low voltage. If this is the case, you can reset it with 3 full warm-up / cool-down cycles.
There is a diagnostic port on the engine.

OK. Had the boat out three times since this began, making it a total of four hot/cold cycles. Audio alarm and flashing message on the digital readout.
What gives? Boat is running fine. All gauges are showing norms. All fluids are correct.
Am I seriously going to have to pull her two hours to a dealer for this?

Unfortunately, you are going to need tow the boat to be connected to the computer. If it meant a 2 hour drive, I would try to go out one last time and see if the alarm goes away. This check engine alarm is my greatest pet-peeve and I am in the process of acquiring the cable and software that will allow me to connect to the ECU and check for engine codes, to avoid the 2 hour drive to the dealer, also.
Just an FYI... most repair places should have the hardware and software to diagnose the code. Might save you some driving time, but still a hassle.

Same thing on my 07 X14 when the battery went dead when my son left the ignition in the ON position on over night. You have to either clear the message at the dealer OR as I was advised by the service manager at my dealer that after ten starts over a weekend, it will reset to its pre-low battery condition...which by mid way through the Sunday (after a day and one half of skiing), the alarm fault went away on mine. Thank heavens - was driving me nuts...
