Lake Burton, GA. The fireworks show is Saturday night, it will be outstanding. Weather "experts" are predicting serious improvement in our weather between now and then.
Looks like Granbury on Saturday-Monday and then on to some place else the rest of the week. Maybe Lake LBJ or someplace in Oklahoma. Any suggestions?

Tex,
If you have a chance go to Lake Murry, just south of Ardmore.
A really clear nice lake.

I have my paddle boat ready for Lake Wedowee,(no motors allowed  )we are going over thursday night.
If anybody else is going to be overthere, saturday we are taking the pontoon and a pretty good sized crowd to the slalom course over by the 48 bridge and spend the day. The wake is pretty nice behind the flote boat. :steering:
Dan - see you there? :toast:

It has been a long time since I've been there. Cabins, crowded, is it any good for skiing?
What about Arbuckle?
Tex, was down there memorial day weekend and the skiing was good. there are cabins and i am pretty sure hey still have a firework display there. there is also a resort hotel (state owned) on the lake.
arbuckle is nice but no cabins. water is always colder at arbuckle.

Lake LBJ.... (northwest of Austin, TX) Our clan will be in my Blue/White 205 and/ or my buddies Yellow Crownline LXI.... Look for us parasailing up the Llano side or hanging out at the huge rocks up the colorado arm... Or maybe we'll cross paths on the poker run Sunday....

Both are very small lakes and will be very, very, very crowded. I was just at Arbuckle two weekends ago (off weekend) and it was insane. I did not board/ski at all for fear of my life. Arbuckle was one of the few OK lakes that outlawed PWC and this year they decided to allow them again.. I guess everyone in OK that owns a PWC decided to ride on the forbidden waters .
Don't get me wrong both lakes are beautiful and are up there a the top of OK lakes but they are just too damn small. You cannot get away from the crowds. Just keep in mind if you go it will be crowded and be content with not sking/boarding unless early am.
Good luck and have a great weekend!! :)

Leave for the Wisconsin River in Tomahawk, WI Wed at noon for six days of nonstop skiing. The count down has begun. T-minus 21 hrs and 5 minutes.
I will be at Lake Granbury starting tomorow. We will stay until Monday and then leave for Lake LBJ for the rest of the week. If anybody is in the area-Please look for a blue 197 w/tower. We would love to hang out and throw some back! Have a fun and safe 4th!

Be careful on the Llano side. Our Uncle has a house up there and there are some subsurface rocks that will mangle a boat pretty well. I wasn't driving, but was nearby when it happened. Somewhere on the board, there's a satellite photo with a "hold short" line drawn on it and an x where he hit the rock (approximately). I presume the water on LBJ is as low as it is everywhere else around here.
Have fun everyone.

Hey all, have a safe Fourth of July!! Please don't forget what the day is about!! Celebrate our Independence and the Freedom's we get to observe today! Unfortunately US Citizens did not get this right for free so shake the hand of a Veteran and an enlisted person and THANK them for all they have done to solidify our freedoms!!
