Speedometer Help

I have an 06 X2 and the speedometer seems to be running fast by about 10 MPH.

We put the boat in the water for the first time a couple weeks ago and drove it back to our lake house with the speedometer working correctly. There was quite a bit of seaweed that we had to drive through to get to the dock. After that the speedometer started to malfunction. I checked under the boat when it was on the lift and everything seemed to be okay.

Could the seaweed have caused this malfunction? What else could cause the speedometer to be so far off?

Have you tried adjusting the speedo? If the paddlewheel got clogged up, it would read slow.
There's an adjuster button next to the steering wheel where the depth, temp, etc switch is.
I think mine got clogged or something last weekend. On one pull the PP and speedo quit working altogether. Tried shutting off PP didn't help. SHut the engine off started it back up and everything worked perfectly again.:confused:

Thanks, I did not know there was a switch there. I am sure that is the problem.
