can anyone tell me how to reduce the flow of watter from the propshaft seal ?
I have exposed it but do not have a clue how it works ?

AWESOME !!!, thanks so much. now I understand. Where do you get the rope packing ? dealer?

Almost any marine dealer will have shaft packing rope. Shouldn't be hard to find. The materials you might see:
Waxed Flax - Cheapest (http://skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=PR25X17), will last 10 years with occasional tightening.
Gore-Tex - More expensive (http://skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=GFO1/4X24), claims that it will last longer, can run with less (or even no) leakage.
For the $10 difference in price, I went with Gore-tex when I redid my stuffing box.

I use gore tex from skidim, no dripping at all
