I was out yesterday and did a boneheaded move and ran out of gas. We tried to start it two more times, but gave up and swam it to the trailer. Luckily we were at the launch end of the club site. I put in fuel yesterday afternoon and went out with my daughter after work. I went to fire it up and no go. Took it to the dealer this morning and was informed that the fuel pump was gone. OUCH. Is this common if you run out of gas or just bad luck? Either way, please be advised... We ran out earlier this year on a friends 209 and were fine.

I always watch mine, one time we were kinda far from our cottage, and the boat luanch, we were running low on fuel, by the time we got it on the trailer it was running on fumes. Luckly we didnt lose a fuel pump, but now i know better.

Rick, you can have mine. I'll take Indiana Stevo137's and he can have yours.
I'll take Stevo's. I have seen him and his kids. The wife has got to be a knockout!

Did it go bad or was it just preventitive maintenance?
I've got 433 hours on a three year old X5 and haven't changed it yet...
