I have the cans that have the lights in the back on my 04 X2. The speakers are blown so I bought some new Kicker speakers. The holes do not line up to mount them. Wondering if I could redrill new holes and if anyone has doen this with any success. Thanks in advance.

How about drilling the thin metal frame around on the speaker to fit the holes on the can? Just an idea as I cant see a picture of your cans....(thats what she said....)=)

The speakers are the Kicker brand that have no covers and are molded so no new holes can be drilled.

I drilled new holes in my M/C cans for my 03 X9. I drilled them by hand, then tapped the holes and bought new stainless allen head bolts to mount the speakers. It was time consuming but not that difficult. On mine I used an 8/32 fine tap (with a #29 drill bit) which was the same as the M/C mounting holes. I did this on four cans, be prepared to use a few drill bits.
