I'm looking for from anyone who has put a boom on an x-14.

I have a 2008 x-14 direct drive. Is there a pylon mount boom that can fit behind the drivers seat and betwen the window and rear tower leg? Is there a tower mount boom that would be a better fit? All the pics I can find of tower booms show them mounted to a tubular rear leg, I can't find any pics on the newer style MC towers.

Any advice is appreciated.

It is "GOSH DARN UNIQUE" only by the fact that it is for a X-14. That is a specfic boom
for that hull and tower configuration

An X-14 has a FULL tower. The boom is contoured to lay in between the tower and the
windshield... PYLON MOUNTED

GUNNEL MOUNT...Makes for some darn awesome barefooting off the side of that beast. Make sure it is mounted just behind the drivers seat.

Scott -
Are you looking for a used tower boom or if someone has one on the their 45 and how it works?

I have the tower boom on my 45 and it works pretty well. Not as well as my my pylon boom on my previous 205, but it works. I will be teaching my daughter to ski/board this summer as well. She is really looking forward to it.

I like the blue one better HA HA HA

2 different boats except the blue stern stripe, LY6s vs MCX and Different console color

I wish I had a chance to drive the bottom one. The upper one with MCXs hit 46
I am sure LY6s 48/49 MPH

Eric maybe able to confirm

i have a Barefoot International pylon boom

I had a tower boom on my X14 and saw a picture of Keith St Onge's 214 with a BI pylon boom ... the tower boom worked fine, it was just a pain to install vs a pylon boom. I called BI and they hooked me up with everything i needed, including a boom extension ... love it

JohnE, I bought a x14 boom to use on my 2007 PS214. If you want one let me know, I have no use for it anymore and would rather have a standard universal contour boom.

Yes - Barefoot International/Fly High. I would check for BI dealers in your area to hopefully save on some shipping. I picked mine up at my MC dealer, I would check with your dealer first otherwise Eric would be a great option.

Umm.......Uh...I REALLY hope that when that boom gets used that the cable that goes out to the front of the boat gets attached to the BOW EYE and not the pop up cleat!!! :eek3::noface:

Great looking boat .... the boom looks nice also ...... using a boom off an X-45 ... take that!!! I need to expand the mind a little bit ... I also thought of booms off Barefoot 200s, Prostars, etc ... I'll come around.

Nice ride!

The tower booms are designed to be cabled to the bow cleat. The cables won't reach around the twin tip bow. I asked the same question to Mike Seiple and he assured me that it won't be a problem. They performed lots of testing on the towers and bow cleats. Trust me, I ran him through ringer with questions because I was concerned about the tower boom design. He also said the bow cleats are back plated and designed to hold the boat on a dock in a wind storm......so far so good.

I know I know.....I get that alot. I have been footin' for years with my buddy's PS190 or my old PS205 with booms so the 45 was a big change.

I usually get silence on the other end of the phone conversation or laughter. I think Mike Seiple laughed the hardest. :) Eric at OJ props said - You are doing what?!?! But it works for me and I needed the ultimate boat that can do it all. I really push my 45 with everything I ask it to do. It does most things very very well and others are fine. I can't think of another boat that provides me with everything I want in one package except the X-45. I love it and wouldn't trade it for any other boat, except one with more power. I always need more power! ;)
