View Full Version : Chk Engine on display and constant buzzer

I have a 2007 X-2 MCX and today after a ski run I came into the boat and heard a beeping noise. I looked at my dash and noticed the info said chk engine and the buzzer was sounding constantly. I shut the engine off turned it back on and within a few seconds it did it again. I checked all gauges, temp, volt, oil pressure, all ok. At speed say 3500rpm, the buzzer won't come on. But as soon as I drop to idle it comes on again, unless I reset it. Any ideas on what this could be???

Ven, at first blush sounds to me like low battery voltage...
Had this same issue on neighbor's 197 last weekend...kept getting buzzer and low volt battery message via the multi-display on the rpm guage sporadically...
Spooling up the engine, running at higher RPM range, might be providing enough voltage via alternator to "prime" the electrical system. As voltage dips/leaks you're getting the warning...
Terminals and accessory posts on battery nice and tight no corrosion?
Could troubleshoot your battery and/or even put on charger for a night...
Overnight charge seemed to work on neighbor's boat thus far...
Good luck hope you get it sorted.

Low batt voltage. Clean the terminals and call me for a pull. I'll buy the beer for the dock.
