Can anyone tell me how to access this on the old board? It's BriEOD's how-to on installing electronic ignition. I can't get the link to work.

By the way, I noticed that the Malibu board has a whole section on "how-tos". Wouldn't it be great if we had one as well? :)

I installed EI this afternoon and also changed coil out. I also found a broken spring, it looked a little smaller than the other one and put on the new ones that came with the kit. The boat would not start, I loosened bolt on Dist. and rotated each way alittle bit but still would not start. An hour later a friend stopped by and I hade him crank motor and I turned dist alot more and she fired but still sounded rough. The boat was on a lift and I didn't have time to drop it in and mess with it. I cant believe how much I needed to turn Dist to get motor to fire. When I changed the spring that wasn't broke it seemed like their was still play in the spring, like you could move the weight back and forth. I also didn't do anything with the ballast resistor, no mention of that in the directions from DIM. does anybody have a picture of it so I can bypass it when I go back to lake with a timing light. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would call them and ask about the resistor. Some EI modules need the resistor in place. As far as the roughness, make sure some of the plug wires didn't work loose when you were removing and reinstalling the cap.

Always check the Frequently Asked Questions thread at the top of General Discussion, that where a bunch of tutorials are at, http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=5427

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.I saw this procedure somewhere on the forum a good while back but no luck in finding it. Here is a pic. PM me if you need any info as to how the wires are landed. It may be hard to discern from the picture but it's easy and straight forward. This is the same kit and application from Skidim (bought it there).
