I am looking for some registration letters and number for my MC that match the MC logos on the sides of the boat.....

Someone recommended (www.domedletters.com) however I cannot get this web-site to pull up.... Does anyone know if this company is still in business?

If not, does someone know where I can purchase some registration letters/numbers to match the MC logos?

Thanks,

Ted

Check with FarmerTed on this board. He did mine for our boat. I know he has been out of town, but I think he was due back in town sometime this month.

Let us know what you find that matches your boat. I have the same boat and usually am on a private lake so I do not have any numbers on it but will need some for a trip we are taking this summer.

X2... They have really grown on me. It pained me at first to put any numbers on, but the threat of a ticket forced me.

You ever get hasseled with the white #'s on a white boat?
Thought I read that they needed to be a contrasting color to the hull (I know they're outlined in a contrasting color).
Reason I ask, is if the CO State Parks ever send me a registration, been waiting about 6 weeks now and they've so far sent 2 "wrong" ones. I was really thinking about going black stickers with white or chrome outline, black boat, but not sure if I'll get hasseled for it.
While I dig the look, I don't need to attract any unnecessary attention, 'cause there's usually enough booze on the boat to get everyone pretty schnockered.

Thrall,
I have put my numbers in the wrong locations on my jet ski's for the last 20 years (some even below the water line) and I have never had any questions from CO rangers. But I allways make sure that they can see them when they are looking.

Up hear in Michigan it seems like they'll take any opportunity to make some cash by writing tickets. Last year a neighbor was hassled because they said his letters were too close to the numbers. They even started doing their "safety checks" which usually result in a ticket being written. Don't get me wrong I love having them around to keep the lake safe but as times get tough they usually get aggressive in finding methods to fund their patrols.

I'm with Thrall on this one. I don't need any reason to have any cops or rangers going through my gear or looking for a cheap shot to take my hard earned cash.

I have yet to get into any trouble. Illegal? Yes.

My brother had these made for our X-Star by a local decal/sticker printing shop.

Took the boat down so they could color match and get a picture of the X-Star and digitally create these.

Then why would you want to take any chance? Just go completely contrasting numbers.

OK here is the second part to this post......

What's the best way to remove the old registration numbers?

What's the best product to utilize to clean the area prior to the application of the new numbers?

Thanks,

Ted

Heat gun (careful) or hair dryer to soften the old letters. I use a plastic scraper to help out. Then a good solvent to remove the remaining adhesive residue. Then wash with soap and water.

I use Goobgone. It is non abrasive, with a little elbow grease the residue comes right off, (after the hair dryer)

Digital Ink in Baxter Mn. does them. They also do the official Mastercraft wraps.

Well, I know. Just fishing to see if it's something the boat police generally take offense to or not.....like stickers on your sled. They're supposed to be on the hood, but I've always put them back on the tunnel because sticker of the year looks ridiculous in the middle of the hood. Illegal? Yes. Never questioned about it though.
I believe the mature thing to do would be to get contrasting #s.:D

Wow, little pent up about the boat cops?? Round here, they tend to be kids that are in the cop academy or something. Young upstarts anyways. Typically, if you treat them like you don't mind their being around, they leave you alonish. That being said, of course you'll have to show that you're not a d*ck, and that you pretty much play by the rules.

If you're going to get ticketed for the wrong color letters, you brought it on yourself. Apparently they don't LIKE you.

Ehhh, we're always nice. Some lakes up here, they just stop to shoot the bull with you. Others, they're out for blood, like getting checked for safety equip each time you're at the lake (I've had the only 190 and X2 I've seen on this lake) and at each shift change when they change skippers midday.

Around here you are 'safe' unless you are on the biggest around....Lake Winnepesaukee. You can do everything right there and they will still pull you over for a phantom violation. Any other lake and I'd be fine taking my chances with improper reg numbers. Not there.

Occasionally I have a fair amount of booze on my boat so I won't take the chance with drawing any unnecessary attention.

Just put these on.....pretty good match. Got them from 3D Lettering in Chastworth, CA 818.349.6000. I have no interest in this company other than I got them in two days for about $50.00. Good website too.

Ended up getting white letters. Had a local graphics shop make a set in the Hemi Head 426 font. $20 for the pair, look pretty good. Not as nice as teh domed #'s, but there's a good chance I'll be in another state next year, so didn't want to drop $50 on a one time use thing.

Sorry, no pics.

I orderded mine from Ebay. The same seller will have multiple listings because each listing is for a different font. Also it was only like $39 for both sides (3" high domed chrome/black)

I ordered mine from Domed Lettering in Arizona.... Mine are NOT domed and only cost something like $32.00.... I have used them 3 or 4 times now and they always do a great job and I had them 2-3 days later.... I highly recommend them....
