Hi,

I have an '05 X-2 with the MCX & MasterCraft Cruise. The cruise works okay, but it never displays the solid LOCK on the dash. I know the cruise works because I can put the throttle all the way down and it does nothing, but it never displays the solid LOCK like the manual says - it just continues to flash LOCK. This is true for Speed or RPM mode.

The dealer has yet to see this specific problem and he has a call into the factory in TN, but its been a couple of weeks now, and no one at the factory has gotten back to him yet with a possible explanation or solution. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any feedback.

Stew - Im not sure if this helps anything, or if I am understanding your question, but my cruise steadily fluctuates within 1mph or so, of the speed I have set. It never sets dead on and locked to the speed I set. ie 26mph, it floats a bit.

Am I not understanding your question?

Hi Cheecher,

No, I don't think we're on the same page. The cruise locks and does its job just fine by holding it within 1mph or so also, it just never gives the visible confirmation to the driver - it still flashes/blinks LOCK rather than going solid LOCK on the display. Make sense?

I have had the same problem with my boat (also an '05 X-2). I have raised it to MCs attention and they actually duplicated the problem and I believe the issue was related to there being multiple sources of speed measurement. This was back in December so the details are a little fuzzy, but I think the cruise system reads off the paddle wheel input directly, but the display on the dash reads off the speedo reading, and if the speedo isn't correctly calibrated, the "LOCK" diplay never stop blinking because the speeds won't match. I haven't taken any steps yet to fix it (just hasn't risen to the top of the priority list), but I'm going to take a GPS out to calibrate the speedos and see if that helps. FYI my display does LOCK correctly in RPM mode. I'll try to remedy it this weekend and report back next week.

Thanks for the feedback WallenpaupackPA, and keep me informed if you do get a remedy for it. I have calibrated both of my speedos at around 21mph (where I like to ride) with a GPS, although it has been several months since I've done that. I'll try recalibrating.

Sorry stew. It looks like you got a good explanation from WallenpaupackPA. Good luck man.
