I have a 2002 Prostar 190 Tournament Team Edition and the black frame of the windshield is flaking and making a mess inside the boat and on the upholstery. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have any tips for repairing/repainting the metal frame? Is this something most auto body shops should be able to handle or is this more of a powdercoating application? Thanks for any advice.

One technique is to use a green Scotch pad to scuff off the flaking paint and prep the surface. Follow with some glass cleaner to degrease. Spray equal amounts of gloss black and flat black spray paint into a container. Then brush on the mixture of paint. It looks really good. Lasts well. And is inexpensive.

Or use Semi-gloss or Satin spray after a good primer, same difference, but without the ugly brush marks.
