Wondering if anyone has had any issues with putting a tower on any of the older Prostars. I've heard different comments and my husband and I keep going back and forth, Tower vs. Pole Extension. Our kids wakeboard, we waterski. Any feedback on issues, stress cracks, etc. would be greatly appreciated. We, of course, have an 89 Prostar 190.

I think Lake Tippy Skier has a Monster Tower on his 87. It looks sturdy and sharp. I have a pole with racks on my 87. I ski 75% of the time, but it seems like everyone else wants to wakeboard or kneeboard. The elevation allows you to use the back seat. A pole is cheaper but you can't mount as much stuff on it. I would love to add a tower to mine. I say go for it.

Thanks for the info. I've seen a lot of pole on the older models, but not very many towers. We are a family of 5, well now 6 since our daughter got married, and its nice to use the rear seat. My guess is we'll go with the tower. I'll let you know. Nice pic of your little one.

I just put a monster tower on my 88' Prostar. It looks great, and works very well. I had a skylon, but figured I could use the extra storage on the rack. I'll snap a pic next time I'm at the lake.
The Monster Tower was easy to install, took me and 1 friend about 2-3 hours.

I too am looking into a tower. I would say Monster is the best bang for your buck. Plus, they fold flat if you have garage door issues. Look on there web site, there are pics of late 80's Prostars with towers.

Yes I do have one and love it! Easy install, very slick and great add on options. I just added the ski rack and wakeboard rack this spring. Looks great!
