I went to put in the brass drain plug fitting into the heat riser and found out the threads over the winter have become corroded. I tried a small brass wire wheel on a moto tool - but no luck. Any suggestions/tips to clean out the threads....use a tap? If so, anyone know what size/thread pattern? (95' 350 tbi - Maristar).

Thanks.

Sorry - can't help you there other than use neverseeze next time. My steel ones are 10 years old & don't have any problems. But, then again - I remove, drain & re-insert mine every year during the winterization process.

Try putting some plubmers tape on the threads at least it will prevent it from rusting to the manifold.

Agreed, I wrap my brass plugs in teflon tape.

I could be wrong, but I believe it's standard 3/4" pipe thread. I think I would go buy a cheap $2.00 plastic threaded coupler to test first.
