Single bay garage door closed:
6 inches clearance front to back, tongue folded, platform off, exhaust tips resting on newly padded rear wall. Tower resting on storage shelf.
4 inch door clearance from fenders, 2" from side guides.
Driveway sits north-south. Garage is east west. Maybe 25' of driveway in front of door. Good thing I drove a fork lift in my youth.
Backed it 1/3 way in, walked it in the rest of the way.

This settles it once and for all... the X2 is indeed garage friendly. In this case at least. :D

That pisses me off even more that I couldn't get my 197 in the ****in garage!!!

congrats.
out of curiosity, whats your garage door opening height? slab to trim/header?
any incline up or down on the way in? i'm guessing it's an 8ft door or you'd be grumbling more about getting it in height wise verus width wise.

Holy carp, you got new reg #'s already? You don't mess around!
Looks about the same as my fit in the garage, 'cept I don't have that header, so I can hang the rear part of the tower off the ceiling.
I'm thinking 8' tall door as well. My 8' tall door clears the racks with them set "flat" only by a 6 inches. A 7' door would appear to require more contortions with the tower and hardware.
I got the same driveway situation, side doors on the garage and only about a 25' runout on hte driveway and then a 3' ret wall down to the neighbors yard. I don't think it would be possible to get it in without the front hitch on my CJ5. Well, I'd have to get the wheels into the garage and walk it in the rest of the way as well.

Mine will fit. At an angle. In a 2-car bay. With tongue folded and swim platform removed.

I don't feel so bad now, but that's what an X15 would have looked like in my garage, hence the reason I started concetrating on finding a "garage friendly" X2!:D

The X2 is longer than the 197, so jp must have a deep garage!

I keep my X2 in the garage and its not garage friendly.... More like Feasible under the right conditions!
FYI before I get blasted, sorry the pic is so BIG don't have time to resize it and Coz told me its the cool way to do it. Second I do have a spare tire and I have a hook in for the tower so its not on the sunpad. this was the day I brought it home. Just my disclaimer.

Glad to hear it! How long does it take you to dissasemble the tower, take the platform off, and whatever else you gotta do? Used to piss me off just having to lower the back of the tower to get it under a 10' overhead door! Only missed by 2 damn inches!8p

The Xterra takes precedence over the boat? My Avalanche has a nice parking spot outside in the driveway. But I understand. At our last house, when we had the old 1990 MC, the Impala SS got the garage. But you have a real nice boat!
If my garage was 2 feet deeper, I'd be able to park the 197 straight in. :(

I built the house around the boat though..
Called Jim at BAWS for measurements when we were planning the house...
Although I did have to take off the clear Nav light on the tower.

I can't get my 07 X2 in the garage without tearing apart the racks. My door opening is about an inch and a half short of making it work. It's a real pain and not something you want to do on a regular basis. Our builder also cheezed out on the overall dimensions of the garage. My depth is only 19' 10". We have a 3 car garage that looks great from the street but is not deep enough to fit my F150 extended cab truck.
