I am wanting to change my prop on my 1988 prostar 190. I would like to gain a little more top speed. It has the stock prop on it now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am not sure what tranny or prop size. I know that it has a 351 engine and nothing has been changed since it was bought new

what RMP's do you get at WOT and how fast? im going to guess you will be looking at a 13x11.5 CNC'd OJ

There is a tag on top of the transmission that will tell the transmission ratio and you can go from there.
If it's the original prop the prop info may be stamped on the prop hub or behind the prop nut.

Be prepared to give him any info he may need like, current prop info off the hub, the current altitude you use the boat at, baseline numbers of the speeds and RPM's for the current prop, boat model and year, engine size, transmission ratio, function (skiing, barefooting, surfing, boarding, tubing, etc.), ballast use, fuel load, gear, nominal # of passengers, etc. He will need it to determine the best prop for your applicatio
