Ok - I know people most of you are feeling the same pain that my dad and I were on our 2003 Master Craft X-9. Technically they say you should change your oil every 50 hours. We put about 150 hours on the boat a summer. Changing the oil on the lift in the 90 degree sun really stinks but what stinks more is getting your filter from underneath the block without spilling oil all over the place.

My dad and I recently purchased an Oil Filter Relocation Kit from Michigan Motors. You can see the bracket and assembly here. http://www.youtube.com/michiganmotorz2008#p/a/u/1/UW9W_Z3Onwg. To order the part go here. http://www.michiganmotorz.com.

We used to have to drill wholes into the filter and suck oil out. We would still end up spilling oil in the bilge. It took us about 3 hours to install because the cables are rigid but it worked. Oh - we also had to have a custom bracket made because when we mounted the bracket the first time we couldn't get the filter out. For the mcx engines you need to have a little taller bracket.

Well - that's my two cents. Hopefully some of you check this out if you were as frustrated as we were. I think mastercraft could tell indmar to have this done on their engines from now on.

Any photos of it installed in your boat?

Here is a link to the remote filter.

You will really like it being like a PCM that comes with the filter relocated.
