There is a good chance that I will buy a boat and meet the seller in Shreveport, LA. I nor the seller are familiar with the area. We will both be coming in on I 20, me from the east and the seller from the west. I notice there's a lake in the area and we'd like to meat at a place where we can put the boat in the water. Can anyone give me directions to the most convenient landing?

i know tha big lake in shreveport/bossier is cross lake, however i think you have to have a permit or resadency to put in there i think! hopefully someone from there will chime in. we always go to tha red river in shreveport, waters always glassy! from the east I20 L-airline dr. L-barksdale blvd. R- westgate dr. boat ramp is in the south east corner, before you cross over tha river. L=left R=right

These guys are in Bossier City (across the river, from Shreveport. http://www.bayououtdoor.com/ You can see the Dealership, from I-20.

There are boat ramps, north and south of Shreveport, on the Red River. Sometimes, you'll see people wakeboarding, in front of the Casino Boats.

The Red is about a 1/4 mile wide, at this point. Further south, on the Red you'll get near the port.

Looks like you've got good directions already but the river would be the place to go. Just takes a 20 dollar permit to get on cross

There is a private ski lake in Bossier City.

Is Gus Campbell Marine still in Monroe? A little farther for whomever of you is coming from the west, but they are on a lake.

Caddo is on the TX/LA border, but I'm not terribly familiar with the landings on the LA side.

Come a little further to the west and you'll hit Marshall, TX. The first exit past Hwy 43 has a power plant lake with warm water year round (if the plant is running). Probably 3 miles off I-20.

There's the Red River, but I think there are quite a few rock piles that you'd want to avoid (get in touch with Farmer Ted; he used to live in Shreveport and can tell you where to put in).
