Does anybody know of launching facilities for the south side of Santee somewhere in the I-95 area? Marina's, ramps, water depth, ect.?

Not sure. I will check tomorrow with some of the guys that work for me. They go down there a good bit for the cat fishing.

Cool deal. The buyer doesn't know of any places?

You'd think if that was his area of residence he'd have a body of water picked out already...

Its nowhere near where he actually lives. He's gonna be in Sanford, NC this weekend and Santee is about halfway in-between him & I. He actually lives somewhere around Raleigh, I think. Santee Will be convenient for the both of us.

I haven't been to Santee Cooper yet. Here's the SC DNR list of public launches: https://www.dnr.sc.gov/mlands/boatramp/

Depending on where you live, there might be a few other choices.

would columbia be more convenient? I could possibly hook you up with a tournament lake with course for a test drive.

There are a couple several miles off I-26 between Columbia and I-95 and several along Hwy-52. You can hit Hwy 52 off I-95 @ Florence/Darlington. I used to cross parts of Santee Cooper when I was traveling between home and Charleston on Hwy52 before all the interstates when I was in the Navy. When we made our many trips to Cypress Gardens, FL, we saw signs on I-26 about access to Santee Cooper from there and several other bodies of water when we stopped for gas in the area and we would see all kinds of boats headed to/from the water..

Having just lived in Charleston about 5 yrs ago, nothing is relatively close to public water from the I-95 & I-26 interchange. You're better off going up to Lake Marion to the state park off I-95.

Actually where the buyer is gonna be on Sunday, is just about the exact distance to Santee state park as it will be for me. Also, its right off I-95 it appears to me. Looks like this may be the perfect meeting place.

That has crossed my mind. I'm hoping there will be a game warden or somebody there to give me the lowdown on where & not to go. And you're right about the mourning!:cry::cry:

Taw Caw is where I used to go when I lived down there. I think I only ever found one stump and it was below 5 feet deep. The water can get shallow, just keep an eye on the depth finder.

Looks like the buyer is coming to Brunswick to pick up the boat now. I appreciate everyone's help!
